The Stepping Stones Citrine set — twenty-six stones in four quadrants of five

We are largely run by beliefs we never chose

Most of what we believe about ourselves was learned early, absorbed rather than examined. Those beliefs then shape the decisions we make, the opportunities we notice, and the results we get.

Stepping Stones® exists to replace limiting beliefs with chosen ones — deliberately, and by repetition.

Your past explains you. It does not define you.
The principle

Not a new idea

For thousands of years Christians have prayed the rosary. Buddhists use mala beads. Muslims use misbaha. Hindus use japa mala.

Each tradition recognised the same thing: repetition, performed in a calm and focused state, gradually reshapes the mind. Stepping Stones® applies that principle to a single chosen outcome, using visualisation, faith and positive affirmation.

The stones are a rhythm to hold on to. Nothing more, and nothing less.

The Stepping Stones Green Aventurine set — twenty-six stones in four quadrants of five

One purpose at a time

Not several. One.

Working on many goals at once divides attention. Choose the one area of life that matters most right now. Whatever the goal, the structure stays exactly the same.

What the stones are

The Visualisation Stone

One faceted amethyst at the centre, larger than the rest, with a gold-plated accent either side. This is where you begin and where you return.

Five Faith Stones

Black lava stone. One either side of the amethyst, and three more dividing the strand into quarters. You speak your faith statement at each.

Twenty Affirmation Stones

Set in four quadrants of five, separated by the Faith Stones. Citrine, green aventurine or sodalite, depending on the set you choose.

Vision, faith, affirmation

One Vision

Imagine the outcome as though it has already happened. See it. Hear it. Feel it. The subconscious responds far more powerfully to emotion than to words alone.

One Faith Statement

A single statement of belief, in the present tense. Not hope. Not wishing. Faith.

“I know this change is already taking place.” · “Every day I become healthier and stronger.”

One Positive Affirmation

A short affirmation describing the reality as though it already exists.

“I think clearly and positively.” · “Abundance flows naturally into my life.”

Each morning

Ten to fifteen minutes.

  1. Relax. Breathe deeply. Let the mind become calm.
  2. Hold your visualisation — the picture of the outcome, already true.
  3. Move through your Stepping Stones one by one.
  4. Repeat your faith statement.
  5. Repeat your affirmation.
  6. Continue through the complete sequence.
  7. Then repeat the entire process ten times.

The repetition is intentional. Every repetition strengthens the pathway supporting the new belief, weakens the old programming, and reminds you what you have chosen to become.

Why morning

Waking is one of the most receptive periods of the day. The brain is moving out of slower alpha and theta activity into ordinary waking consciousness — a transition that closely resembles the receptive state used in meditation.

Doing the practice then means you have directed your thinking before the day's distractions arrive.

Eventually that message becomes familiar. Then believable. Then natural.

Five worked examples

Transforming your thinking

Vision — See yourself waking every morning filled with confidence, optimism and peace. Watch yourself smiling. Making wise decisions. Remaining calm during difficulties. Speaking positively. Enjoying life.

Faith — “I know that every day my mind is becoming calmer, wiser and more positive.”

Affirmation — “I think positively. I believe confidently. I create a wonderful life.”

Recovery from illness

Stepping Stones® is designed to complement — not replace — appropriate medical care.

Vision — See yourself healthy. Walking freely. Laughing. Feeling energetic. Enjoying life with the people you love.

Faith — “Every day my body is restoring itself through the remarkable healing abilities with which it was created.”

Affirmation — “Every cell in my body supports perfect health.”

Creating abundance

Vision — Picture yourself living without financial stress. Paying every bill with ease. Helping others. Supporting your family. Building a meaningful future.

Faith — “I trust that abundance is flowing naturally towards me as I create value for others.”

Affirmation — “Every day I attract increasing opportunities for prosperity.”

Relationships

Vision — See yourself enjoying loving, respectful relationships. Feel appreciation. Forgiveness. Understanding. Connection.

Faith — “Love grows wherever I choose kindness, understanding and forgiveness.”

Affirmation — “I give love freely and receive love gratefully.”

Discovering purpose

Vision — See yourself living with meaning. Helping others. Using your gifts. Making a positive contribution to the world.

Faith — “My purpose is unfolding perfectly every day.”

Affirmation — “Every day I become the person I was created to be.”

Faith and action

Faith without action produces little. Action without faith often lacks persistence. Together they become extraordinarily powerful.

Visualisation directs your attention. Faith strengthens your belief. Affirmation reinforces your identity. Action changes your world.

Some people call that manifestation. Others call it psychology. Some call it answered prayer. The principle is the same either way: what we repeatedly think, believe and act upon gradually shapes the life we experience.

The practice takes ten to fifteen minutes. What happens in the other fifteen hours matters just as much.

What the research supports

Repeated thought strengthens the neural pathways that carry it — the process known as neuroplasticity. The brain remains adaptable throughout life, which is why long-held beliefs can be changed using the right methodology.

Calm, focused repetition is also the mechanism behind established practices such as meditation and mental rehearsal, both of which are supported by substantial research literature.

What Stepping Stones® adds is not an entirely new mechanism. It is a structure that makes the repetition happen every day, toward a burning desire, in a settled state of mind.

Common questions

How long does a session take?
Ten to fifteen minutes for most people. You move through the full sequence, then repeat the whole thing ten times.

Why ten repetitions?
Repetition is the mechanism. Each pass strengthens the pathway carrying the new belief and weakens the old habit of thought. Ten is enough to matter and few enough to keep up.

Why only one goal at a time?
Because attention divides. Working on several outcomes at once dilutes all of them. Choose the one that matters most now; the others will still be there.

Does it have to be the morning?
Morning is recommended, and the reason is practical: the brain is moving out of slower activity into full waking, which is a receptive window, and you get to set your thinking before the day interferes. If mornings are impossible, a consistent time is better than no practice.

What if I miss a day?
Begin again the next morning. Nothing is lost and nothing needs making up. Consistency over months is what counts, not an unbroken run.

How long before anything changes?
We will not put a number on that, and you should be wary of anyone who does. This is a discipline, not a treatment. What we can say is that it depends on doing it daily and acting on it.

Do I have to be religious?
No. The faith the method asks for is belief in the outcome you have chosen and in your own capacity to work towards it. Some people phrase their statement in religious terms. Many do not.

Does this conflict with my religion?
It is not intended to. The structure is modelled on the prayer beads used across many traditions, and it is a focus aid rather than a belief system. If you have concerns, speak to your own religious adviser.

Is this a treatment for anything?
No. Stepping Stones® is designed to complement — not replace — personal responsibility, professional guidance or appropriate medical care.

Do you guarantee results?
No, and we would not trust anyone who did. What is offered is a structure and a discipline. The work is yours.
